About

The Bird Island Community Garden became possible with the help of SHIP. Funds from SHIP will help with developing the area for the garden.

Bird Island has of developed a 100 x 100 community garden. The Garden is located west of the Athmann’s Inn Ballroom. Plots are available to rent

The garden plot sizes are 15 x 30. These can be split with a friend. Raised beds are also available. The garden is fenced in, and there is also a sand box for children to play while parents are gardening.

There is a garden shed available for those renting and in need of storage for your gardening supplies.

Watering is also available for those that need to water their produce as needed.

The City garden also has strawberries, blackberries and rhubarb which can be enjoyed by the entire community!  You don’t have to be renting a garden to pick these items, these are for all of the Bird Island Residents to enjoy!  Just be careful to not stomp or harm any of the additional produce growing in the plots rented by the city residents.

We will add new recipes every two weeks so please visit our page again to enjoy the recipes we host online!
